Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a Be Wise Presentation go for?
Our standard presentation time is 60 minutes in total, including a 45-minute presentation and 15 minutes of Q&A. If you have less time (or more time!) let us know and we can discuss the best way to help your group.
What if our school, club or community group has less than 60 minutes available?
We can present in a shorter time frame if needed, but we recommend allowing 60 minutes if possible. This ensures adequate time for such an important message to be conveyed, understood, and processed by the audience. We will need a minimum of 45 minutes.
What age group is the Be Wise Presentation best suited to?
Our Be Wise presentation is suitable for ages 14 and above. This includes mature aged adults. For schools we recommend that the presentation is best suited for Year 9 and above.
How many audience members can attend the one Be Wise Presentation?
We can present to small or large groups, from as few as 30 to as many as 500 people. If your group doesn’t fit in that range, let us know the number of attendees that will be coming, and we’ll let you know how we can make it work.
What room set up and audio visual equipment do we need?
We’ve presented to groups in classrooms, libraries, theatres, shared spaces, and clubrooms. Whatever space you have, if it is adequate to hold the number of attendees you’re expecting, we can present there.
The presentation includes a video, so we need to have an AV set up so everyone there can see and hear well. Please let us know if you don’t have suitable AV equipment and we can arrange to bring our own.
Can I request a particular presenter?
You can request a particular presenter and we will do our best to meet that request. All our presenters are fully qualified and bring their own unique experience to their sessions.
Will I have contact with the presenter before the Be Wise Presentation?
Our presenter will call your main contact in the week before the presentation, to discuss any specifics for your school/club/group.
Is the Be Wise presentation suitable for all genders?
YES, absolutely it is – violence impacts everyone directly and indirectly, so we can all be involved in the solution.
Is there a cost for the presentation to be held at our school, club, or community group?
Thanks to donations from our generous partners, supporters, money raised from fundraising activities and government support the Pat Cronin Foundation can fund these sessions, so you don’t have to. We offer one fully funded session at each school, club and group to ensure our resources are spread evenly across as many audiences as possible. We can arrange to present more than one session at your school, club or group, but there will be a fee.
Can I book more than one presentation?

Are your Education Presenters vaccinated against Covid-19?
Yes, all our presenters are up to date with their Covid-19 vaccinations and ensure that they follow all protocols relating to Covid-19, required by the Government and the Education Department. If your school, club, or community group has any additional requirements, just let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.
Do your Presenters have a Working with Children’s Check?
Yes, all our Be Wise Presenters have a current WWCC.
Are there other materials that we can use to continue educating after Be Wise Presentation?
Yes, we also have our Be Wise Classroom Resources on offer, which is the perfect follow-on from our Be Wise presentations.
The Be Wise Classroom Resource has been carefully developed in collaboration with the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority, teachers, psychologists, researchers, students, and parents. It brings a whole of community approach to learning emotional engagement, ethical reflection, and an understanding of how your own views and choices matter.
You can find more information and purchase our Be Wise Classroom Resources here.
Do you run a different Sporting Club presentation for Girls teams and Boys teams?
Our presentations are appropriate for all genders. We present to many sporting clubs including both boys’ teams and girls’ teams, aged 14+. The presentations are the same for all genders, as the message is to stop and think about the consequences of your actions.
Our presenters are excellent at reading emotions of young people and responding to the different issues as they emerge throughout the presentation.
Is the presentation different each year?
Currently the content of the Be Wise presentation is the same each year.
Some schools like to book the same Year level in for a Be Wise Presentation each year, so that each cohort can benefit as they move through their high school years. For example, you may choose to book your schools Year 10 students in every year. Other schools are happy to provide repeat presentations, so their students consider the message more than once.
Should someone attend a presentation if they attended one the previous year?
Given the presentation is the same each year, it is up to the school, sporting club or community group. Your school, club or group may like the message to be reinforced, therefor a repeat presentation will be good. This information should be shared with the presenter prior to the booking to ensure they know if the attendees have already attended a session previously.
Does the presentation address bullying?
The Pat Cronin Foundation is dedicated to empowering young people to never use violence.
The Be Wise presentation reinforces the message of empowering people to make wise choices in all situations and circumstances.
We have had an incident at our club or school, can the presentation be tailored to what has happened?
We prefer not to single out any audience members or details of an incident. We encourage the audience to think about their own experience and to apply our messages to previous events, and more importantly future events.
What does the Be Wise Club Accreditation involve?
Please enquire for further information.
Can we have your survey results for our school?
We are unable to provide individual schools with their survey responses, as we do not collect identifiable data.
We will aggregate our data across all the schools we visit, by year level, and report each term and build to the end of the whole year.
We do this to ensure that no schools can be compared, or labelled.
Our presentations can be delivered in person or online.
